Job Description

Volt seeks to hire a contract PMP/ITIL certified professional to Manage day-to-day operations of multi-functional projects teams supporting a government agency in Rockville, Maryland. This Project Manager shall meet or exceed the following requirements:

•             Project Management Professional certification

•             ITIL Foundations certified

•             Experience working in fast paced and collaborative integrated service delivery environment

•             Experience managing multiple teams of varying size, experience, and capabilities

•             Experience developing, implementing, and managing project plans, cost, schedule, risk, and scope

•             Experience managing team performance

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (list daily duties and/or specific job responsibilities)

•             Manages multi-functional project teams towards the completion of IT projects of various size, scope and complexity

•             Prepares and communicates project status information for multiple project with stakeholders at all levels including Senior Government officials

•             Works closely with clients to support their operational needs

•             Monitors execution of work and relies on experience to provide guidance and constructive feedback to ensure optimal team performance

•             Responsible for managing team performance, cost, schedule, risk and scope for the day-to-day operations of the General License Tracking System (GLTS) project, development and maintenance on the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) task, and related business rhythms.

•             Responsible for programmatic support (cost, schedule, and risk) for the Integrated Source Management Portfolio (ISMP) program.

•             Oversees and ensures successful of IT service into operations

•             Works closely with teams performing day-to-day operations of End User Services tasks including but not limited to IT Help Desk, Deskside Technician Support, Account Administration, Desktop Engineering, Computer HW/SW Provisioning management, and Asset Management.

•             Responsible for developing, maintaining, distributing, supporting, enforcing, and integrating industry standards and best practices


•             Successful completion of a NRC Public Trust security investigation resulting in clearance

•             Bachelors’ Degree with 15 Years of experience in an Information Technology discipline or Masters’ Degree with 10 years of experience in an Information Technology discipline

•             ITIL Foundation or higher

•             Certified Program Management Professional (PMP)

•             Excellent customer service skills

•             Demonstrated team leadership

•             Excellent organizational and reporting skills

•             Demonstrated ability to understand technical information and convey it to technical/non-technical people

•             Effective ability to collect and manage large data sets


•             ITIL Expert/Intermediate

•             Experience implementing ITIL best practices

•             Knowledge of SharePoint tool/use and experience managing SharePoint development projects

•             Knowledge of the NRC’s Licensing Process

•             Experience in End User Services, helpdesk ticketing systems such as Remedy and FootPrints, and related metrics

•             Exposure to cloud migration projects

•             Considered very proficient with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and the standard Microsoft Office Suite

•             Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology and managing in a Federal IT environment.
