Project Manager- Outage

This company located in Richland, WA which is a joint action agency formed by the Washington state legislature in 1957, representing the convergence of small and big public power is seeking a  Project Manager for a long term contract role. Their consortium of 27 public utility districts and municipalities across Washington takes advantage of economies of scale and shared services that help utilities run their operations more efficiently and at lower cost, to the benefit of more than 1.5 million customers. Their agency further improves quality of life throughout the Northwest through the generation of clean, reliable electricity from nuclear, wind, hydro and solar projects. The agency owns and operates four electricity generating facilities: White Bluffs Solar Station, Packwood Lake Hydroelectric Project, Nine Canyon Wind Project and Columbia Generating Station (nuclear energy facility).

The Project Manager should have experience with managing maintenance activities during a refueling outage, this role starts sooner than the other two. Work with and manage Site Support Contractor, and vendors. Familiarity with plan circ water system, heat exchangers, valve maintenance and cooling towers. Proficient with Columbia Generating Station work management program and Asset Suite 9. Experience with managing maintenance activities during a refueling outage. The Project Manager is responsible for managing major projects for Energy Northwest using established project management methodology. The level of responsibility is projects with budgets in excess of $1,000,000. The purpose of this position is to achieve project objectives through focused planning, scheduling, and control of project activities. The Project Manager will also assist as a Project Estimator (PE) is responsible to scope, develop, coordinate, and communicate all levels of project and program estimates in support of Project Management at CGS.

The PM will develop Preliminary estimates, Rough Order of Magnitude estimates, Budgetary estimates, and Definitive estimates as required by the project type and complexity. The PM will interface on a regular basis with Project Managers and will attend management level meetings as necessary (example is PRC). The PE will develop and maintain the estimating program and computer based estimating templates and tables. The PE will hold and electronically store / maintain all current estimate revisions and back up information. The PE will provide input to and operate under PM-2-8 (Project Estimating).

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of experience directly related to maintenance processes, human performance, and/or continuous improvement; OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and twelve (12) years of experience directly related to maintenance processes, human performance, and/or continuous improvement; OR a high school diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years of experience. Work 4 days x 10 hours. Work with and manage Site Support Contractor, and vendors.

Familiarity with plan circ water system, heat exchangers, valve maintenance and cooling towers. Proficient with Columbia Generating Station work management program and Asset Suite 9. Experience with managing maintenance activities during a refueling outage. Desired Abilities and skills: PMP Project Management Professional Certification desired. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or Professional Engineer Registration.
