Job Description

Purchasing and Planning Administrator needed for an electronics manufacturing company located in Flemington, NJ Our client designs and manufactures a broad range of high-power DC power products for markets such as electric vehicles, particle accelerators, solar, and national defense.

The Administrator will be responsible for supporting all aspects of materials management, purchasing and planning.  Position is Contract -to-Hire for the right person!

The qualified candidate should have a general understanding of the manufacturing and purchasing process; knowledge of electronic components is a plus. Constant interaction with internal departments and vendors requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Individuals must be organized, observant, and proficient in math. Computer competency is necessary. Experience with ERP/MRP is a plus.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Creating and expediting open Purchase Orders
  • Providing support to the Purchasing Department by updating pricing, creating and maintaining part numbers
  • Assist with planning and purchasing stock items
  • Perform weekly invoice sorting/matching, purchase order entry and vouchering
  • Sending purchasing orders to suppliers and ensuring that confirmations are received that conform to the requirements
  • Converting quotes for inventory items into purchase orders and submitting for approval
  • Process made-to-order batches and made-to-stock work orders
  • Perform ad-hoc requests and other administrative functions as needed

Requirements needed for this role:

  • Strong math, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to follow instructions.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to adapt to and work within a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • High school degree and 1-3 years’ experience or equivalent. College or Associate’s degree preferred.
