System QA/Validation Engineer

Volt is currently hiring for a project at our client site located in Santa Clara, CA.  This role will be part of the Instrument Engineering group and will require an enthusiastic System QA/Validation Engineer to lead the System Validation activities for a new and exciting product, entirely developed by a small cross-functional team of expert engineers.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience developing software automation systems
  • Ability to analyze and regress system issues
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of embedded systems and/or RF test equipment
  • Ability to set up RF test equipment and diagnose configuration and connectivity issues
  • Prioritize tasks within rapid development cycles, remain flexible and deliver high quality solutions for time-critical issues
  • Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Detail and process oriented
  • Good knowledge of one or more SW languages
  • (preferred) Experience of developing distributed full-stack web applications using Ruby, Python or similar
  • (preferred) Experience with automated build environments, such as Jenkins/Hudson/TeamCity etc

This position requires an independent and self-motivated experienced engineer with a passion for quality assurance.

Candidate will work closely with the cross-functional hands-on SW and HW teams to identify test cases, root cause problems and to support engineering investigations.

You will lead the QA & Validation activities and be responsible for defining, writing/developing, and executing system stability and regression tests. You will extend and enhance an existing automation framework to run system tests across multiple hardware variants. You will provide estimates, identify & mitigate risks and suggest & implement improvements.

Education & Experience
BSEE required, MSEE preferred
2 to 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent
