Job Description

Volt is in search for an experienced Quality Assurance Manufacturing Inspector for a nutrition company in Orange County.


The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance Manufacturing Inspector is to inspect all in-process finished product testing in Encapsulation Department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Conduct inspections of in-process products during encapsulation.
  • Evaluate product quality and processes.
  • Monitor and test physical characteristics to ensure product meet specifications.
  • Document test results such as average capsule weight, size and weight variations.
  • Help with the investigation relating to customer complaints, deviations, and failure investigations.
  • Monitor, conduct, coordinate, and document the inspection of the manufacturing process.
  • Recommend the disposition of acceptance or rejection of all in-process products.
  • Enter Non-Conformance information and update containment plans in Quality Management System.
  • Assists QA management with special projects.
  • Write test or inspection reports describing results and recommendation.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized working area.
  • Initiates and informs management of products that have a non-conformance.
  • Cross train and function in other areas of manufacturing inspection as needed.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by Quality Management.


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily outlined in the Duties & Responsibilities.
  • Experience in Network-based system, Quality Management Systems Software (QMS) & QAD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to read document, such as standard operating procedures. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.


  • Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
