GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Support the development, implementation and management of quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of elastomeric insulation products consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals.  Visit customers and potential customers to educate them on the proper use of elastomeric foam products. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Provides training on the proper usage and application of elastomeric products for current and potential client customers. Provides product technical support to customer inquiries about product applications. Investigates and corrects customer issues and complaints related to quality.
• Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
• Formulates, documents, and maintains quality control standards and product installation guides for customers.
• Provides Product Training for client employees.
• Provides customer feedback from the field to key personnel within the Company.
• Supports inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
• Supports efforts to maintain ISO certification and participates in internal and external audits to include vendor and supplier audits.
• Climbs on rooftops of buildings and tanks for field investigations to review product failures. Documents in detail report format findings of customer site assessments.  
• Ability to work in hot and cold conditions for field investigations to review product failures.
• Hands on approach to development of new products and product field installation.
• Develops and executes testing protocols for new raw materials and products.   
• Travel to customer sites for product training and field investigations to review product failures.
• Any and all other duties assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, preferred) or a related technical field.  
• At least 5 years of work experience in Product Development and Product Field support combined with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments as a Quality Engineer. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Problem solving skills (8-D, Six Sigma/DMAIC Methodology, 5 Whys, cause and effect diagrams etc.)
• Auditing experience
• ISO 9001 experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Must be proficient with AutoCAD, or Solid Works drafting software.
• This position requires that the person be a highly organized, self-motivated individual.
• Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
• Must be computer literate in all MS Office applications and ERP Systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
