Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for qualified Quality Lab Technician to join our team at a reputable partner of ours located in Bedford Park, IL!  The Quality Lab Technician will act as primary support technician for operators who perform QC and support leadership team members with the development of the quality and safety culture. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform, record, and manage QC results for incoming raw materials and finish goods. (i.e. Softening Point, Viscosity, Dissolved Oxygen testing, etc.)
  • Keep instruments running at their optimum performance through proactive preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor performance of equipment by following QC protocols
  • Quickly respond to and diagnose instrument failures, where you may fix the easier issues, or work with the vendor to fix the more complicated ones.
  • Offer assistance to co-workers and be point of contact for plant support quality issues.
  • Monitor trends in service requests and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime of instruments.
  • Review, develop, and update SOPs and manufacturing formulas associated with quality control, within GCP Sharepoint.
  • Work with R&D to test, recertify, and give disposition on DeNeef and other production products.
  • Utilize data analysis tools such as, Gage Pack, QC database, and SQC Pack, to monitor trend analysis on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or other Plant Management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Associates Degree (preferred) in technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Basic lab skills including preparing solvents, standards, and solutions preps.
  • Ability to diagnose and remedy hardware and software problems.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with safety, waste disposal and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and is able to identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices.
  • Good personal and communication skills on all aspects of job performance and review.
  • Individual must be self-motivated, well-organized, reliable, and prioritize workload.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
