Job Description

Quality Technician needed in Dover, NH for (2nd Shift, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM). Competitive Pay at $20/hr!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing materials and products to ensure they conform to all applicable specifications and requirements. The Quality Technician is also responsible for following, interpreting, and enforcing written policies, work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures to make ad hoc decisions in support of quality.  Additionally, the Quality Technician is responsible for reviewing processes and documents for compliance, reporting and partnering with all relevant stakeholders including Quality, Production, Materials, and Engineering teams. 

  • Ensure compliance to product, process, and system requirements and report non-conformances.
  • Perform and record inspections on incoming materials, in-process products and finished products as assigned.
  • Perform quality performance and destructive testing including product chlorine removal, pH, airflow resistance, and product burst testing.
  • Responsible for making impromptu decisions regarding production defects, material defects, and overall quality issues that arise on a daily basis.  Coordinate and implement countermeasures with production and/or materials personnel when necessary.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders in the management of potential (product or process) non-conformances including but not limited to: segregation of potentially nonconforming product, following QC Hold procedures, investigating the issue, dispositioning product as appropriate, and documenting and communicating issues and applicable actions.
  • Review, create and maintain quality records.
  • Produce and document sample orders.
  • Generate Quality Alerts and communicate quality issues, as well as actions required for the resolution of quality issues as assigned.
  • Utilize computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work off-shift hours including overtime as required.
  • Technical, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills required.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and high sense of urgency are required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area per 5S standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Position requires walking, standing and bending.
  • Able to safely handle corrosive and hazardous chemicals in routine lab use.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills (in English).
  • Basic math competency required.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must have a high level of self-direction and motivation.
  • Knowledge in quality processes for manufacturing product with minimum 2-3 years of inspection/test and/or manufacturing experience (3 years in Quality Control preferred).
  • Must be able to easily read and understand verbal, visual and written instructions, including technical information and all safety information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Must be results driven, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to legibly and accurately complete quality records.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and internal client service orientation.
  • Knowledge of JDE and LabelMatrix a plus.
  • Knowledge of general laboratory safety a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality control dimensional inspection tools a plus.
