Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a 2nd shift Quality Technician to work onsite at our client’s facility in Milwaukee, WI. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

Responsibilities include:

The main function of this quality technician is to inspect and test processed, machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defect, wear, and deviations from specifications.

  • Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications
  • Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded
  • Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to determine test results


  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Must be able to perform inspections utilizing coordinate measuring technology, including programming and operating a Gleason 3000 gear measurement machine (GMM) or equivalent
  • Must interpret results, create and read K-Charts, and provide recommendations to Operations, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering if non-conforming
  • Must possess strong knowledge with GD&T and Blueprint reading
  • Self-starter capable of working with little supervision and capacity to communicate turnover, problems, and priorities through e mail to the team
