Job Description

Well established Taste & Nutrition company in Clark, NJ is in need of a Reactor Operator for the 1st Shift.

The reactor operator is responsible for performing all assigned reaction operations, to ensure continuous operation.

Shift Hours:
6:30 AM-2:30PM 
Schedules will be running from Monday-Sunday with two days off back to back. 
Positions are temp to hire (30-90 Days)

Pay Rate: $19.00-$21.00 DOE 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Helps ensure production needs are met with regard to quality, GMP’s and safety. This includes HAACP.
  • Responsible for making sure ingredients are added into the reactor correctly, utilizing process control sheets. This includes weighing up of any minor ingredients, double checking item numbers, batch quantities, and lot numbers.
  • Make any necessary changes to make sure batches meet quality specifications. Provide the quality department with a sample of every batch run.
  • Operate the vacuum tray ovens as needed.
  • Comprehend all aspects of the blending controls.
  • Comprehend all aspects of the sanitation process.
  • Comprehend the purpose of USDA and procedures to follow for USDA products. Complete the proper USDA documentation and contact quality for documented oversight.
  • Maintain sanitation level in the reactor room area at all times.
  • Points out equipment problems to maintenance for repairs and follows up on progress.
  • Works with the other Reactor Operators and Supervisors to ensure a smooth transition from shift to shift.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnel.
  • Understand and comply with all HACCP, Allergen, Environmental, regulatory and customer demands and requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

Previous experience in process operation in which has been demonstrated a high degree of competence and understanding of process equipment.
Problem solving ability and aptitude for learning and professional growth.
HS or equivalent experience
Able to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to the job functions.
Ability to distinguish between labels.
Ability to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse.
