Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking to fill a Shipping/Receiving position in Cambridge, MA. This is an opportunity to get your foot in the door with a growing company and is temporary to permanent. They are located right across from Alewife Station (Red Line), and you will have access to a cafeteria and gym, both on the premises.

Job Duties will include: 

  • Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills of lading or other records
  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages and reject damaged items
  • Unpack received goods into appropriate storage areas
  • Process returned items and route them correctly
  • Maintain safe working conditions and keep stockroom and related areas clean
  • Will be required to operate pallet jack and related stockroom machinery
  • May be required to assist in shipping, kitting and assembly of goods
  • Perform inventory counts on a planned schedule

Skills

  • Must have the physical strength and stamina to lift and move goods weighing up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Possesses good organizational skills
  • Has a courteous helpful attitude and can work well with others
  • Self-motivated
  • Can multi-task and prioritize
  • Must be able interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate mathematical values
  • Must have a working knowledge of Internet software usage, order processing systems, inventory software and word processing software
  • Must be knowledgeable in warehousing procedures
  • Ability to give attention to detail is a must
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Understanding of SAP preferred, but not mandatory
  • Must be willing to stand for long periods of time 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
