Robot Technician
Or client is revolutionizing deliveries with autonomous robots. The robots are designed to deliver food, groceries and packages across college campuses and neighborhoods in minutes. The delivery robots have completed over 1 million autonomous deliveries to date, traveled 2.5 million miles, crossed over 17 million roads and met millions of people in cities around the world. The contribution to the society includes reducing congestion and pollution, zero emissions deliveries, increasing the quality of life for residents, empowering seniors and disabled people and enabling affordable delivery for local businesses. Every day delivery robots are completing thousands of autonomous deliveries across tens of cities and 5 countries around the world. Records are broken on an almost weekly basis. We are now looking for a Robot Technician who will provide in-depth technical support for our robots as well as to our operators, handlers and partners.
You will know everything there is to know about our Starship robots and will be able to fix any technical problems they encounter – even if it requires flying it to the other side of the world for the day:)
A successful candidate will have:
  • a passion for robots and innovative technologies
  • previous experience in Technical Support and with any service desk application
  • good knowledge regarding mechanics, electronics and IT
  • proven work experience in enterprise technical support, IT support or as a technical engineer
  • excellent client-facing skills
  • fluent English
  • ability and willingness to travel. May need to travel up to 20% of your time as part of your regular duties to assist as we expand launching new Universities. Students may travel less and around school schedule.
  • good self-discipline
In this role, you will get to:
  • maintaining the health of our global fleet of robots
  • troubleshooting technical issues reported by our partners and test teams
  • carrying out maintenance activities and upgrades on robots and infrastructure
  • creating and maintaining internal and partner documentation
  • ready for being on-call during non-business hours
  • working with engineering to improve future robots
Beneficial skills and background to have:
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, CLI tools and scripting
  • Hobby projects in electronics or mechanics
  • Previous experience in managing a large fleet of devices
Physical requirements:
  • Office work
  • Speech and hearing ability must be at the level to receive and reply average conversations and exchange of ideas accurately and fast. Visual ability must be ordinary at the necessary level to inspect documents, machinery and systems related to the job. Movement ability to frequent usage of wrists, hands and finger dexterity to movements such as constant typing
  • Occasional lifting of items with weight up to 70 lbs
