Job Description

Robot Test Operator

Shift: 7am-7am Saturday and Sunday or Wednesday-Sunday

Pay: $17.00hr plus 25% differential 


  • Operates automated and robotic test equipment including set-up and monitoring of robotic manufacturing cell. 
  • Ensures filters are testing correctly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoots issues as required.
  • Maintains traceability of material.
  • Notifies supervisor, Engineering and/or Maintenance if there is an issue.
  • Maintains a neat and organized work area.

Desired Experience:   

  • Operating automated equipment
  • Experience with precision measurement methods and systems
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system

  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and strong technical aptitude.
  • Able to multitask
  • Able to work on your feet
  • Able to work independently over 80% of the time
  • Good shop math ability
  • Ability to meet tight time schedules
  • Good understanding Optical filters a plus
  • Able to assist in the training of new hires
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team based environment

  • Handle special assignments promptly and professionally

Job Elements:

  • Work 12 hour shifts. 3 / 4 shifts per week.
  • Set-up and test filters efficiently and accurately,
  • Monitor operation in order to detect filters when testing outside of optimal area.
  • Monitor the correct placement of filters on test stylus. 
  • Operate 10-20 testing machines at one time.
  • Listen and watch machines during operation in order to detect filters testing outside of optimal area. Interrupt machines that are no longer testing in ideal area.
  • Remove finished filters, or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.
  • Troubleshoot and fix minor issues that arise.
  • Confer with supervisors or programmers maintenance to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors, and to obtain approval to continue production.
