EHS Training & Communications Coordinator (12-month contract) $23.89
Maplewood, MN
 

Summary:
Provide course creation, entry, and completion tracking/delinquency analysis for Environmental, Health, Safety, and Medical (EHS&M) training needs. Interact with online learning platform (SAP LSO). Also assist with EHS&M communications such as newsletter creation and distribution, intranet site updates, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Corporate Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Safety, and Medical to develop and deploy training content to sites/personnel.
  • Meet with program owners to define program training module needs.
  • Work with program owners to format training content and upload to online training platform.
  • Create courses in online training platform using uploaded content.
  • Maintain audience lists and update enrolled audiences in online training platform.
  • Provide minor support to employees if they encounter issues with training content.
  • Follow and maintain online organized structure of training content storage, completion tracking and course formatting.
  • Work with EHS&M personnel to create periodic internal newsletter content and manage newsletter distribution.
  • Help update EHS&M content on intranet.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate professional experience in training development, technical writing, communication.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Preferred experience in EHS training, and in using SAP's Learning Module (LSO).
  • Comfortable with use of multiple software tools including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn use of new software applications.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps, and track improvement initiatives to closure.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize work effectively.

Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position and provides best practicing sharing within work group. Includes all major EHS activities, so that it can be applicable to individuals with a variety of EHS responsibilities.

  • Identifies, analyzes and recommends for EHS programs, activities and projects leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing or new programs/systems having major importance to the business within the assigned area of responsibility.
    Responsibilities:
    a. Identify training needs and develop training packages;
    b. Complete routine and non-routine internal or external EHS compliance/ conformance reports and associated data analysis, or coordinate the involvement of junior technical individual(s) in tasks to support such reports;
    c. Work with teams to address minor and serious EHS incidents;
    d. Perform EHS audits and/or self-assessments;
    e. Provide EHS input to Life Cycle Management/New Product Introduction processes;
    f. Works on Environmental Management System (EMS) and/or Global Safety & Health Plan (GSHP) program development and performance improvement at a corporate level and/or within assigned facility(ies); and/or
    g. Actively apply engineering/scientific knowledge to EHS regulatory interpretation within and outside assigned organization, influence facility processes to address EHS considerations, and lead projects to reduce external EHS impact.
