Job Description

VOLT is hiring for a two Safety Coordinators to work onsite with our customer John Deere in Milan, IL in a contingent position forecasted for 11+ months.  Safety Coordinator will provide interpretation, analysis, and support of programs or related projects which support the health and safety management system for the Parts Division for our distribution and manufacturing operations in the USA. In addition, you will:

  • Participate in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of processes to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Serve as the primary person responsible or primary point of contact for managing safety and health programs and compliance at a unit
  • Lead/Conduct incident investigations and ergonomic reviews and assists in determining effective corrective action.
  • Compile and analyze necessary data, documentation and correspondence to comply with safety regulations and health and safety management system requirements.
  • Develop recommendations for health and safety processes/programs to meet the John Deere health and safety standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations.


  • Ideally looking for 2-5 years of experience in Safety field
  • MS office productivity tools, email, run a spreadsheet (no need to have advanced knowledge of Excel).
  • Candidate will be working in a warehouse and will be driving a cushman (similar to a golf cart), will be walking, standing, kneeling, possibly crawling, lots of movement
  • Ability to work in conditioned and non-conditioned air, nothing extreme.
  • Internal metatarsals required, may have to wear gloves while on the floor and safety glasses
  • Experience with occupational safety a plus
  • OSHA ten hour card or thirty hour would be beneficial
  • Any certifications for OSHA training will be helpful as well
