Job Description

At Volt, we specialize in placing accounting and finance professionals. We are working on an immediate need for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for month-end closing activities to include reconciling general ledger balance sheet accounts, preparing monthly standard and non-standard journal entries, and maintaining back-up schedules for general ledger detail.

Additional duties include performing fluctuation analysis on balance sheet accounts and reviewing complex financial transactions. This is a fast paced environment that requires engagement with multiple levels of personnel throughout the company to get the job done.

Duties include:

  • Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts, prepare and review complex financial transactions and analyze monthly fluctuations on the trial balance. 
  • Maintain accurate schedules for significant and material balance sheet and income statement accounts and prepare respective closing entries for the financial statements
  • Extensive review and analysis of general ledger balance sheet accounts and monthly financial transactions that impact the financial statements. In addition to the research and review of how new and existing accounting pronouncements will affect financial disclosures.     
  • Develop, maintain and distribute daily, monthly & quarterly management reports for various departments and divisions, to support decision making 
  • Completing multiple varieties of ad hoc analysis & reports to support business decisions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university 
  • 5-7 years general ledger financial accounting work experience.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical, decision making, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization.
  • Extended Working Hours as required.
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) principles and methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office [Excel (experience with pivot tables) Word & Power Point]

  • Working with advanced mathematical and accounting concepts.
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports and documents.
