Volt is seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk for a thriving Fortune 500 enterprise! This dynamic role works closely with Operations, IT and Finance contacts from around the Company. As well as, external Banking contacts, to safeguard the Company’s cash/cash equivalent and ensure that cash activity clears the bank and posts to the General Ledger properly. This is a long term temporary contract working remote for the next 12 months, potential remote work extension, in the East Coast time zone/ Orlando, Florida.

  • Position will primarily focus in:
    • Reconcile disbursement, depository and credit card accounts in SAP and the DWSS tool ‘CARS’
    • Process Unclaimed Property requests through the DWSS tool ‘PLANES’
    • Process weekly Unclaimed Property requests sent from the business partners
    • Download the general ledger daily, update the UCP database and reconcile the UCP account
    • Monitor the shared mailbox and respond to inquiries/requests
    • Mail monthly Due Diligence Letters as required
    • Mark letters in the UCP database as RPO – Returned by the Post Office
    • Process journal entries in SAP as needed
    • Upload monthly Accounts Payable files and DWSS, STW and DCL payroll files
    • Process Recovery claims from all 50 states, DC, PR, VI
    • Assist in UCP state audits
    • Develop appropriate Policies & Procedures
    • Provide excellent customer service to our Business Unit clients by meeting and exceeding our Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements
    • Complete assigned account reconciliations each month by the Monday before month-end
    • Establish strong working relationships with Business Unit contacts and partner with them to clear all reconciling items within 60 days
    • Monitor account activity and submit process improvement/cost reduction recommendations whenever possible
    • Support fellow employees by providing front line assistance with day-to-day issues
    • Actively participate in internal C&B process improvement projects lead by salaried counterparts

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Accounting experience
  • Account reconciliations
  • Cash Accounts
  • Strong Excel – intermediate – V lookups – pivot tables – basic formula’s
  • Very Detailed with strong analytical skills

Basic Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience
• Demonstrated computer proficiency with Excel
• Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to handle high volume work in a deadline driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Unclaimed property experience
  • SAP experience in Cash/Cash equivalent Management or Financial Accounting Modules
  • Cash Management experience
  • Credit Card experience
  • Cash reconciliations

Preferred Education:

  • AA or BS in accounting or finance
