The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst’s role is responsible for organizing, analyzing, and visualizing enterprise data to enable data-driven decision making. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements for, designing, and rolling out BI solutions to end users. Using modern business intelligence tools and data visualization techniques, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will build and provide Analytics to client. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other team members to select, plan for, and implement adoption of BI reporting and analytical tools and software.
  • Define and design the infrastructure for analytical reporting, KPIs, and other data specifications from various BI applications.
  • Design complex data models from business requirement for delivery to business operators
  • Query, analyze, and profile data to ensure data quality and determine the ability to meet reporting analytic needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their Core Business Processes
  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business and technical staff to determine technical requirements of business requests.
  • Develop project specifications, requirements, and scope from business needs and data availability
  • Develop complex SQL queries, procedures, functions, and views for reporting and analytic needs, as well as other data needs.
  • Define, design and develop analytical reports, dashboards, and story boards, from various BI applications, incorporating KPIs introduced by business leadership, and other data specifications.
  • Synthesize unstructured, disjointed information into meaningful, compelling narratives that facilitate and promote self-learning by business users.
  • Integrate, analyze and interpret data from a variety of data sources, identify business-related trends, and communicate analysis to business operators.
  • Create meaningful insight into data.
  • Ensure control and protection of company assets.
  • Be responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
  • Be available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for business levels. 
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • All KTOI, KTEA and NQRC policies, procedures and internal controls
    • NIGC Regulations
    • Other relevant governance requirements (PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.)

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of data-reporting and business intelligence analysis tools required; specifically preferred:
    • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
    • Tableau Software’s data visualization tools
    • Power BI
  • Familiarity with one or more hospitality- & financial-management systems preferred, specifically:
    • Sage 500
    • UKG Group UltiPro HRMS
    • Agilysys Visual One lodging-management and club-management systems
    • Agilysys InfoGenesis point-of-sale system
    • RetailPro point-of-sale system
    • ResortSuite spa-management system
  • Ability to understand and document business and administrative processes.
  • Familiarity with data science concepts, machine learning, regression analysis, predictive analytics, clustering, decision trees, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing (including writing reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals).
  • Ability to provide one-on-one and formal classroom training to users and management.
  • Well-developed organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to reason from limited information, and identify and solve practical problems under high-pressure conditions.
  • Ability to take data from disparate sources across the enterprise and synthesize into meaningful business insights.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data integrity problems and provide technical support as needed.
  • Ability to deal with conflicts and tense situations in a professional manner.

Experience

  •  At least 5 years of experience:
    • Creating complex SQL scripts, procedures, functions, etc.
    • Creating reports with tools such as Tableau, SSRS, Excel/Access, Power BI, etc.
  • At least 3 years of experience:
    • Working in and leading small teams in a cross-functional environment
    • Programming with C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic
