Senior Electrical Engineer

This company located in Everett, WA (near Seattle) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in a lead role for a direct, full-time opportunity. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will develop concepts and lead the design of safety critical civil or military avionics control products, specifically those containing embedded computing platforms.  You’ll work closely with advanced design and development, fellow engineers, and potential customers to transfer research concepts into implementable and certifiable designs that contain complex electronic hardware. 

These systems would be designed to receive airworthiness certification from aviation authorities. The selected candidate will lead technical effort estimation, design plans and build/integration plans and activities for new product design and development. Collaborate with system engineering to develop high level system and subsystem level hardware requirements. Lead the development of product level and circuit board level electronics architecture from industry data, customer interactions, existing product technology trends, and market needs. Produce electrical deliverables according to rigorous phase gate development process and development standards. 

These include hardware requirements, design description, theory of operation, test plans, test procedures, etc. Develop, manage and track status of product technical performance and electrical requirements. Prepare technical presentations. Lead the resolution of technical problems using your expert knowledge, root cause analysis, and change impact analysis. Facilitate product development processes. Provide technical guidance and mentorship for other engineers

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a BSEE or MSEE from an accredited school and have a minimum 7 years of engineering experience in a highly regulated industry. Knowledge of CAD tools.  Knowledge of Mentor Graphics Expedition is a plus. Minimum 7 years of experience designing embedded systems. Expert knowledge of the latest industry concerns applicable to piece part component selection and management. 

Key points:

The hiring manager is seeking a degreed Senior Electrical Engineer who can be the point person on projects and new programs.  Working on FFA certified programs. Must have high speed integrated IC design experience. Mentor Graphics with Expedition prefer. Circuit board design and power distribution experience. Will implement new design tools and design from scratch.

Candidates from the avionics, electronics, medical device or automotive industry would be a good fit. Working with new and cutting edge technology.  The client is not looking for a sustaining engineer at all for this role. Military or commercial aircraft electrical experience a plus.
