Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is now hiring for a corporate Sr. Financial Analyst. This is a excellent opportunity to work at Volt Corporate located in Orange, Ca with a recognized global leader in the billion dollar staffing industry!

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for completion of complex analysis of the company’s business operations and accounting functions. This Sr. Financial Analyst will make recommendations to management to resolve issues or improve accounting and operational processes.  This position will also deploy and implement their solutions/ recommendations through a complete project management life cycle.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze department processes and determine and implement any process improvements
  • Responsible for presentation and preparation of the monthly financial package.
  • Develop financial reporting tools utilizing computer programming techniques
  • Provide operational profitability analysis, this is achieved by conducting analysis of business profitability and recommending business plans such as sales, target business, potential contracts awarded, overhead, etc to increase business profitability. 
  • Provide profit and loss statement analysis.  Conduct financial drill down on P&L statement and escalate any business issues/problems that are undermining profitability of branch. 
  • Prepare reporting documents including:
    • Variance Analysis and Write-ups (Actuals vs. Forecast & Budget)
    • SUI, Workers Comp, Taxes Analysis
    • Analysis for quarterly and annual reporting packages
    • Surveys
  • Assist in developing financial reports and tools
  • Work with large data sets and complex spreadsheets
  • Frequent ad-hoc reporting and sensitivity analyses, as needed by management


Position Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a financial analysis or accounting role (CPA is a huge plus)
  • Must be detailed oriented and proactive in addressing variances
  • Must have a winning attitude and the ability to think dynamically, and arrive at an answer
  • Strong Excel (that means a lot more than just a pivot table and VLookups)
  • Working knowledge or ERP systems, databases, BI/Dashboard tools
  • Have a solid understanding of GAAP and the interactions between the financial statements
  • Be creative and offer ideas on ways to improve processes
  • This is a team service minded group who looks at improvements regularly
