Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals.  We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Chicago, IL.  

This is a contract position expected to last 1+ years.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will contribute to design, development and deployment of our client’s state-of-the-art condition monitoring product. You will be part of a fast moving global team that will build a best-in-class product of our client’s dealers worldwide, to lower cost of service and improve customer support.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale.
  • Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs.
  • Experience writing API proxies on platforms such as Apigee Edge, AWS API Gateway or Azure API Gateway.
  • Hands-on experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman and Assertible.
  • Deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS (especially Lambda and Fargate services).
  • Application architectural patterns such as MVC, Microservices, Event-drive, etc.
  • Developing software applications using relations and NoSQL databases.
  • Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum).
  • Strong understanding of Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development.
  • Strong understanding of datastores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Oracle.
  • Experience debugging and maintaining software in Linux or Unix platforms.
  • Full-stack development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React.
  • Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.

Must be available to work on W2 for Volt.  No C2C or 3rd party vendors please.
