Job Description


The Shipping Coordinator is responsible and accountable for providing support to the Physical Distribution department inclusive of freight and warehouse cost analysis; liaison with our third party warehouse representatives, transportation and warehouse contract administration, routing of shipments, tracking and expediting loads and provide monthly reports related to duties assigned.  This position also works closely with Sales, Materials, Partner Services, and freight carriers to ensure that customer needs are met.



Formulates, compiles and evaluates pertinent data on different carriers as to availability, cost, and adequacy of service and handling of goods.

Guides, advises, and assists plants traffic departments in matters of traffic administration such as but not all inclusive of routing guides, carrier liaison, etc.

Expedites and resolves any loads necessary to meet a customer's needs and keep management apprised of any critical issues.

Analyzes and recommends bid proposal adjustments for warehouse prices to management.

Responsible for collecting and preparing assigned reports.

Reviews, analyzes, and recommends stocking processes to maintain inventory at appropriate levels to meet customer expectations.

Resolves any issues between third party warehouses and Rheem expectations.

Provides support and advises, as needed to the Sales, Materials, and Partner Services on transportation, inventory, or warehouse issues to minimize costs and improve our competitive position.

Participates in the taking and reconciliation of physical inventories.

Rheem Required Skills

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.

Demonstrates ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle EBS.

Strong mathematics skills (Must be capable of applying concepts of statistical inference, fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations).

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deal with numerous interruptions.

Strong analytical and reasoning skills—ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Strong communicative and interpersonal skills with external and internal contacts.

Product knowledge of HVACR or commercial water heating preferred.
