Volt is seeking a Software Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Peoria, IL.  This is a contingent position forecasted for one year.  Within this role, you will:

  • Perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work
  • Work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls
  • Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems
  • Drive application development focused around delivering business valuable features
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
  • Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, inter-operability, and completeness
  • Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results
  • Work through agile methodologies to build and support pipelines from sources to base objects

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Expertise in AWS components such as Glue, Lambda, Crawler, etc.
  • Expertise writing in Java and Python and be able to demonstrate knowledge of writing in these languages
  • Ability to build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
  • Experience creating solutions and methods to monitor systems and solutions
  • Experience automating code testing and pipelines
  • Ability to engage directly with business partners to participate in design and development of pipeline and connection of proper sources
  • Experience with Pipeline Management Integration
  • Strong communication skills; ability to speak clearly and be easily understood
