Job Description

VOLT is seeking candidates for Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Test role for our client in Redmond, WA . This is a Full time opportunity and candidates will be required to work from WA location.

As the Sr. Embedded Software Engineer in Test, you will work with the firmware team to test embedded software running state-of-art scanned laser products. This position will be responsible for ensuring our firmware changes are operating as expected and without regression.   You will also be working in close collaboration with embedded software engineers in development, Digital RTL engineers, and software application engineers to test, develop, and deliver new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop firmware and embedded software test plans for application code in Embedded Linux and MCUs supporting FPGA and ASIC designs and design changes
  • Develop, plan, and deploy automated regression testing and continuous integration testing for embedded software applications
  • Support regression testing for FPGA and ASIC design verification
  • Develop and support embedded software release process meeting automotive requirements
  • Verification testing of system performance
  • Perform code reviews and provide feedback

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related
  • At least 5+ years of software development experience
  • Passion for hands-on problem solving
  • Proficiency in Python and/or other modern scripting and automation languages
  • Proficiency in Git or other source control tools
  • Understanding of engineering best practices for the full product development life cycle, including design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing
  • Solid communication, ability to understand complex systems and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of C and C++ preferred
