Sr. Staff Product Quality Engineer

Job Description

This company in Redmond, WA that develops laser scanning technology for projection, 3D sensing, and image capture is seeking a Sr Staff Product Quality Engineer role for a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

The selected candidate will coordinate with product development team to implement Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP) at the product level. Drive product supplier quality and performance through APQP, applying practical statistical methods to yield tracking, trends and problem solving. Deliver and implement product control plan. Own product compliance specification. Create and execute product measurement system analysis plan. Complete engineering and design verification test plan and testing. Lead root cause investigation and corrective actions by use of 8D process and methodology. Work with CM to implement continuous improvement programs for cost and yield. Support product reliability testing

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a Master of Science in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science or a related technical field strongly preferred. A Bachelor of Science in technical discipline with appropriate work history also will be considered. Minimum 10+ years in technical field and 5+ years focused on quality required.

Apply solid understanding of quality control and manufacturing concepts to develop specific Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP) appropriate for each product. Prior experience with PPAP inspired document qualification process, root cause investigation, and corrective action. Ability to review product design to ensure quality and reliability objectives are met. Work throughout organization to ensure proper definition of quality expectations and appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product.

Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier. Supplier selection process for new products and second sourcing activities. Supports supplier quality engineering in improving and reporting vendor processes. Experience with a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred, or other proven quality problem methodologies. Hands on experience and willingness to learn new technologies. Semi-conductor, MEMS or wafer level processes knowledge.
