Volt has an opening for a Security Systems Architect to partner with other IT groups to ensure their architecture meets information security requirements.  You will also be responsible for validating engineered solutions and for developing architecture for information security systems as our client moves to the cloud, requiring them to change their approach for architecture and engineering. Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement security architecture solutions using formal risk management methodologies
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies; researching information security standards; conducting security and risk assessments; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
  • Act in an advisory role in application development to assess security requirements
  • Serve as an Information Security architect/consultant
  • Provide ad-hoc consultancy services on Information Security topics
  • Act as design expert in the implementation of authentication and authorization technologies and systems (i.e., SAML, OAuth, OTP, Kerberos, LDAP)
  • Support Incident Response Team in conducting security research
  • Develop security reference architectures and artifacts
  • Take a lead role in conducting security research on threats and remediation techniques
  • Define Security Architecture for internal network and cloud-based deployments
  • Lead design and plan risk mitigation and security solutions
  • Advise on data security issues, compliance, and privacy requirements including, such as HIPAA, ISO, NIST, SOC 2, Sarbanes Oxley, SSAE16
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Cloud security
  • Perform security design reviews to assess security implications

Job Specifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience 
  • Eight years of experience in related field 
  • Expertise in enterprise-wide technology and system integration 
  • Excellent technological vision 
  • Read and write current programming languages; excellent knowledge of current development and production cycles/processes 
  • Excellent knowledge of software and systems design patterns
  • Broad knowledge of the systems across the enterprise 
  • Excellent planning and facilitation skills 
  • Experience leading technology projects; demonstrated ability to collaborate, direct, mentor and train others to optimal outcomes 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual design skills; strong problem-solving skills; excellent creative thinking, developing skills and takes initiative 
  • Requires broad knowledge of current technology developments and trends
  • Data Modeling skills 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills 
  • Ability to influence organizational best practices to better suit organization needs 
  • Identify and mitigate risks; contribute to risk management plan 
  • Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
