Tax Director – Position Summary

The Tax Directors will be a strategic advisor to clients and will lead the various tax functions including review of returns, planning, research, and compliance. The successful candidate will develop and sustain excellent client relationships and will be responsible for the calculation and analysis of proprietary tax strategies for clients. The Tax Director will be expected to lead and assist with all tasks associated with tax engagements. The Tax Director will be responsible for mentoring and training junior staff while continually adapting to the changing needs of the client.

  • Review tax information supplied by client to proactively recognize and resolve issue and provide recommendations
  • Apply advanced problem solving, research and analysis skills independently
  • Communicate proactively and effectively – in writing and orally
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with firm associates, clients and client personnel
  • Direct the activities of the team and provide direction and guidance
  • Evaluate the performance of the team, encourage the development of individual team members, and plan for long-term resource needs
  • Maintain necessary confidentially with all client and firm information

Education / Experience

  • Highly knowledgeable in current income tax laws and regulations
  • Proficient in corporate, individual and partnership taxation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  •  Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 10 years of tax experience within a public accounting firm or related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience supervising and training staff
  • Strong computer application skills – proficient in MS Office including Excel
  • Strong organization skills
  • Candidates are required to successfully complete a background check

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Position eligible for performance bonus paid twice a year
  • Position eligible for Employer-funded retirement contributions via cash balance and profit-sharing plan, subject to vesting schedule
