Job Description



The Buyer/Planner will assume ownership for the manufacturing execution and performance results for assigned customers. This responsibility entails planning future material demand, reviewing ERP system transactions, inventory levels, resolving issues and partnering with team members in production, quality, engineering and shipping / receiving. This individual will lead and manage our largest customer projects overseeing the execution of low volume high mix product lines with challenging delivery dates. Managing multiple orders and anticipating the needs of our customers and internal support team is key to this high visibility position.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Work order planning, shop floor level loading and coordination of material acquisition and kitting activities
  • Confirmation of shipments and invoicing, as well as delivery date management and support of teams contributing to these key business processes
  • Ability to manage / monitor dozens of orders in parallel through project team
  • Process driven mind set, proven ability to drive process beyond day to day activity and resource constraints
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate order execution with key functions such as Engineering, Production, Stockroom and QA
  • Basic understanding of part / assembly drawings
  • Maintain high level of organization and basic process control within MRP system
  • Understand and adhere to ISO and Quality policies
  • Other duties as required

Education / Experience / Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 10-15 yrs. experience; AS or BS 3-10 yrs experience preferred
  • Experienced as planner or production control support in MFG environment preferred
  • Experience with customer facing communications, status updates, reporting, change requests
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States (REQUIRED)
