Technical Sales Engineer

Volt is excited to share a Technical Sales Engineer opportunity, located in Woburn, MA, the greater Boston area. This is a new role with ample growth potential in a rapidly growing industry.  This role is with our client, a cutting-edge, scientific, electronic manufacturing organization with a strong track record since 1961.

The Ideal Candidate:

A physicist, mechanical engineer, or materials scientist open to relocation to the great Boston area, if necessary

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire an in-depth knowledge of our organization and competitor products
  • Communicate with customers, identify their requirements, and offer suitable standard and customized products
  • Prepare quotations for cryogenic products and accessories 
  • Function as project manager from order write-up, through fabrication, until final QC
  • Provide “voice of customer” feedback to management
  • Remain abreast of scientific trends, and suggest new products and features
  • Participate in trade shows
  • Utilize CRM for scheduling activities and managing opportunities

Qualifications:

  • A degree in physics, materials science, or mechanical engineering; a Masters or PhD is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with liquid helium and cryogen-free cryogenic equipment is a strong plus
  • Prior sales experience with cryogenic, analytical, or scientific instrumentation is a plus
  • Native English speaker, or business level fluent

  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D drawings and models of complex mechanical systems
  • Strong organizational skills, able to handle multiple priorities and work to a deadline
