Job Description

Volt is looking for an advanced Technical Writer/Illustrator to produce high-quality documentation for our client on multiple NPI programs, specifically manufacturing procedures and service manuals.  

  • You will collaborate with our client's engineering team, production personnel and managers to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products to be documented and the project requirements.  
  • Then you will plan, develop, organize, write, edit, and produce the documents per a project timeline.


  • Proven working experience in technical writing of manufacturing procedures and customer facing documentation. 
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation, paying attention to detail 
  •  Excellent written skills in English 
  • Publishing software: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and graphics (pictures, drawings, etc.) 
  • Flow charting (Visio etc) 
  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred 
  • Doc control / revision control. 
  • Government Regulatory marks (safety, UL/CSA, CE, etc) & other externally required sections. 
  • Mechanical aptitude (product assembly/disassembly proficiency); good hands-on skills. 
  • Laser & fiber optic experience preferred. 
  • Will work in factory (2L) – will need to take laser safety training, etc, to work in the factory area.
  • Working time: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
