Job Description

Volt is currently recruiting for an experienced Technician to work for IKEA.  Please read through ALL job qualifications before applying.

Pay DOE.

Candidate should have 2-5yrs. of on the job experience preferably working in a distribution center setting. 

During training candidate will work from 8 am – 4:30 pm,  Tuesday – Saturday. Once the training is complete the candidate will be working second or third shift from Friday to Tuesday. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Daily and ongoing support for local end users  
  • Receive and follow up on incidents and support requests from end users on a daily basis 
  • Contact and coordinate with IT Helpdesk for additional support
  • Directly support the IT hardware in the DC.  Responsible for maintenance and support of PCs, scanners, printers, phone equipment and systems – any assigned technology-related equipment in the DC
  • Maintain and configure warehouse management systems, specifically in terms of user administration, change management and systems releases and upgrades
  • Monitor system quality and security by verifying that the system is used and behaves according to standards
  • Setup and maintain an active communication with the end user community and communicate relevant updates and news
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur

Preferred technical skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Enterprise, Microsoft office, Microsoft One Drive, and Share point
  • IT management software
  • Programing languages; Java, C++, HTML, SQL
  • Understanding of WMS, including database structures
