Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking Test and Validation Engineer to work onsite at Caterpillar’s facility in Griffin, GA. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to design engineering team.
  • Support the validation activities for the C175, 3500 and 3400 NPI, CPI and Cost Reduction programs.
  • Meet with test execution support team to initiate/coordinate activities for daily test activities/schedule.
  • Execute individual task activities: instrumentation, testing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with development team to create test plans for package components and systems.
  • Communicate test results to engineering and managers.
  • Coordinate with development team on ordering of new parts and material for generator set testing.
  • Responsible for various logistical tasks including inbound/outbound materials and inventory management of various test assets and equipment.

Required Skills/Experience

  • BA in Engineering or applicable 2 or 4 year technical degree.
  • Ability to work as an individual and in a team environment.
  • Desire and ability to work in a test environment.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a test cell environment.
  • Experience with logic controller programming and/or data acquisition systems.
  • Operation and installation of accelerometers, thermocouples and strain gauges.
  • Experience working with or directing work of mechanics for product assembly.
