Job Description

RF Test Engineer 

This company in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a Test Engineer for an estimated  9 month contract role. 


  • Take ownership of test and characterization activities to measure and analyze the performance of leading-edge RF power amplifier modules for mobile communication applications.
  • Develop and maintain metrology integrity for all test systems.
  • Configure and execute various RF device measurements, including DC, S-parameters, linearity, noise parameters, load-pull, and Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements.
  • Configure and verify test systems for various measurements; execute the measurements, and / or guide engineering technicians to execute the measurements.
  • Develop and execute plans to optimize RF device performance based on programmable device settings.
  • Process, verify, and analyze measured data. Produce clear concise presentations and reports.
  • Specify and procure components and equipment needed to make measurements such as spectrum analyzers, cables, connectors, probe stations, etc.
  • Plan tasks and responsibilities for technicians.  Oversee progress relative to plans.
  • Train and support technicians in the execution of test procedures.


  • BSEE required. Prefer MSEE
  • 3+ years of industry experience in RF and microwave measurements
  • Ability to work independently, investigate and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Good multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with RF and microwave test equipment
  • Knowledgeable in RF characterization metrology methods and issues
  • Highly skilled with Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Windows, at least one programming language, data manipulation, and general problem solving
  • Familiarity with RF & microwave circuit design
