Job Description

Volt has an excellent permanent opportunity if you have experience as a Machine Operator (Thermal Spray/HVOF) in Orange, Ca. This is a great position for you, full time with medical and dental insurance, paid holidays and vacation, 401K.  Requires 2-4 years thermal spray experience in a manufacturing or industrial repair, aerospace preferred. Machine Operator (Thermal Spray/HVOF) to perform the full range of thermal spray operations ensuring quality of work performed meets customer expectations.

Applies thermal spray coatings to parts in accordance with customer specification, following process planning. The Thermal Sprayer must be certified for the type of thermal spray process he/she is performing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive work instructions for the job and ensure properly masked, blasting required

• Pull and maintain tooling and materials required for thermal spray application

• Perform the setup of equipment, tooling and materials for each project with minimal supervision

• Set the parameters and pressures to operate the thermal spray equipment

• Knowledgeable to operate arc spray machine

• Apply plasma thermal spray coating to the full range of jobs and aircraft parts

• Apply HVOF spray coating to the full range of jobs and aircraft parts

• Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout department and work facility

• Personally, observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material

• Combustion - applies powder, wire, or ceramic rods using oxy-acetylene gas process

• Sets up the booth and spray equipment in accordance with process planning without deviation, or verifies that booth and spray equipment already set up complies with process planning.

• Applies the required coating materials to parts in accordance with process planning.

• Operates equipment with some capability for minor adjustments to programs.

• Operates spray and manipulation equipment in a careful and safe manner in accordance with all local, state, and federal safety policies.

• Is responsible for the proper handling and maintenance of equipment and tools.

• Proposes improvements and solutions to problems observed.

• Performs other tasks as assigned that may include any, some, or all of the support tasks such as Mask, Grit Blast/Glass Bead, Cleanup/Unmask, Ship/Receive, Inspect, Part Marking

Must be able to pass any required eye examinations. Must be able to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions
