The Volt Training Manager is responsible for managing the course content, resources, processes, costs and overall effectiveness of the Volt New Hire Orientation (NHO) at the client sites in Dallas and Sherman, TX. The Training Manager also is responsible for developing and delivering new course content, on request. This individual reports directly to the Worldwide Account Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Training Department to ensure a seamless transition from Volt New Hire Orientation to being placed with their organization
  • Work closely with counterparts to schedule training rooms, transportation, Badge access, etc.
  • Must be able to adapt, overcome, and manage non routine events.
  • Design and Implement other training interventions on request
  • Department staffing
  • Excellent communication skills essential, written and verbal
  • Responsible for overall effectiveness of Realistic Job Preview (RJP), making sure it is current at each client site
  • Responsible for course and session setup, assigning course credit
  • Schedule part-time contract instructors and third-party contract instructors
  • Responsible for coordinating the two to three and one half day Volt New Hire Orientation
  • Maintain training supply inventory
  • Update and print documentation for training, testing, and RJP
  • Teach email and WebTools information, as needed
  • Teach Time System, as needed
  • Conduct Realistic Job Previews (RJP)
  • Provide ongoing support to Program Managers with system and training and is available to assist contractors as needed
  • Become certified to teach New Hire Orientation content if not taught by safety vendors or Program Managers
  • Develop new training or update existing NHO/ RJP training
  • Support Volt PM, as needed
  • Provide reports on candidates (RJP) and (recommendations and observations) on new hires (NHO) to Program Managers

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to apply knowledge of commonly used training concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Able to instruct, coach and advise with confidence and accuracy
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Windows products including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Effectively communicate in writing, including email communications
  • Effectively communicate verbally including by telephone
  • Ability to deliver business presentations
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems
  • Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks
  • Delivery of interactive classroom training or individualized training is a plus
