HVAC Account Executive

This client in Beaverton, Oregon, (near Portland) is seeking a HVAC Account Executive for a full-time, direct role.

The Account Executive provide a strategic alignment of the company's and external customers to deliver best-of-class customer service in line with our mission, vision and values. Provide leadership and expertise to specific markets and/or customers with the goal of best value to the customer and best company to work with. Share and champion best practices and a high level of teamwork across internal and external teams. Participate in developing and executing the strategic plan for key clients and organizations in support of the CEG Business Plan

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Work with CEG Business Unit Leader (BUL) to identify and develop:
    • Primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
    • Key decision makers and potential revenue stream for key accounts.
    • Identify, track and implement strategy for key market opportunities within each strategic account.
    • Alignment across Service, SPD and MP to maximize Concept to Maintenance opportunities.
    • Strategy to meet Revenue, P&L and Overhead requirements within each strategic account.
  • Set strategy and lead team on project pursuits.
  • Lead and align resources during preconstruction.
  • Perform conceptual/GMP estimates during project pursuit and during preconstruction.
  • Maintain customer oversight and advocacy during construction phase of project.
  • Develop and lead project turnovers to facilitate transition of project strategy from sales team to construction team.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for assigned clients and markets.
  • Manage team members assigned to him or her to achieve the goals and objectives as of the Business Unit.
  • Develop and maintain “Best of Class” knowledge of healthcare projects, clients and cost metrics.
Accountabilities & KPIs:
  • Achieves assigned revenue & profitability and other business metrics as determined by the CEG BUL. 
  • Achieves identified customer objectives.
  • Completes strategic customer account plans to company standards.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings to company standards

Capabilities & Experience:

The qualified candidate must have demonstrated the ability to analyze and perform pursue/no pursue and bid/no bid recommendations and develop pursuit strategies for new business opportunities. The position will also require previous experience in evaluation, competitive environment assessment, value based pricing, price to win analyses and probability of winning. A proven track record of negotiation and closing high value contracts involving strategic business relationships. A candidate must have the following experience:

  • Ten years plus experience of mechanical construction sales
  • Contract negotiation with GC executives, Owners, Sr. PM’s, & key personnel
  • Familiarity with Estimating, project management, engineering functions and practices
  • Possess strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to positively influence and persuade others
  • A record of achievement in selling across market segments and to GC Accounts
  • Is a disciplined, strategic thinker and can quickly develop a holistic view of the company's business, building and nurturing key relationships focusing on desired outcomes and creating competitive advantage for our entire business
  • Four-year University degree, preferably in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
