Job Description

Volt is currently seeking self-motivated professional accountants to join the Clients’ Corporate Accounting Team on a temporary basis. Our client offers exciting job opportunities as one of the world's largest aerospace companies and by being a leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems. Responsibilities include general support of the monthly financial close process, financial analysis, and preparation of the Corporate financial statements:
 

The candidate selected to fill this assignment must successfully pass a credit check performed by Client Security. Suppliers, refer to your Supplier Guide for information on this requirement. Other standard checks may be required.

  • Primary responsibility will be preparing journal entries, supplemental schedules, and supporting the preparation of the Corporate balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and equity statement. This includes reviewing and analyzing accounting source documents and information to ensure transactions are appropriately documented and accounted for.
  • Reconcile accounts in the reconciliation system (Blackline).
  • Develop and prepare internal and external financial reports (10-Qs).
  • It is possible that the position will handle technical accounting areas, such as include incentive and stock compensation, derivatives, pensions, insurance accounting, debt and investments, among others. Experience in any of these areas is desired but not required.
  • Work with operating units, SEC/consolidations, treasury, and others as needed.
  • Understand enterprise systems (PeopleSoft, Cognos, Vista, Blackline) and execute responsibilities, identify, and resolve system issues.
  • Ensure continued compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
  • Assist in preparing and providing support to both internal and external auditors.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • More than 3 years accounting experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel Skills - Candidate must be able to execute basic mathematic calculations (add, subtract, etc.), VLookups, SumIFs, and Pivot Tables.
  • Must be able to meet closing deadlines

  • Interpersonal skills - the position will work both independently on journal entries, as well as with the team to cross-train, ask questions, and troubleshoot.
  • Strong verbal and written communication (written - mainly email)
