The Manager, Accounting plays a key role in managing and overseeing the accounting department for the company. This position monitors and analyzes accounting data and ensures financial statements and reports are accurate. This individual will establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.

What You Get to Do:

•         Recruits, trains, mentors and manages staff; retains the necessary resources to successfully perform the duties for the Accounting team and provides performance management

•         Provides day-to-day management of department, including developing and administering policies, business processes and quality standards

•         Manages and leads an accurate and timely monthly close process to complete all reporting deliverables  within corporate deadlines

•         Reviews financial statements with senior leaders and provides detailed explanations for variances on a monthly basis

•         Reviews and manages general ledger account reconciliation of revenue and all operating expenses including accruals for monthly close process

•         Proactively takes ownership for successfully implementing all related financial controls, operational business processes, and system enhancements

•         Creates processes to improve DSO performance and minimize bad debt. Forecasts weekly cash flow and secures appropriate funding if necessary

•         Manages billing and collections of prescription benefit and specialty services AR including member copayments, and PBM/Payor reimbursements

•         Researches, analyzes and resolves payment and vendor issues

•         Reviews purchase orders/requisitions for accuracy and validates to contract terms, spending authority and budget

Education and/or Experience

For consideration candidates will need a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in quantitative based field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics) along with five (5) plus years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience. 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert skills of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
