Job Description

Would you like to work in beautiful Santa Barbara and work with a solid fast-growing company? We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager who oversees financial activities including; AR, AP and Payroll and employee benefits administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  • Accounting Operations including General Ledger, Financial Statements and analysis
  • Supervise transaction level functions in Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll
  • Reviews expenditures and prepares operating budgets for various areas within the company.
  • Performs all month-end, quarterly and year-end close procedures and financial reporting.
  • Calculates company overhead rates on a quarterly basis.
  • Preforms job costing duties

SECONDARY DUTIES include the following:

  • Maintains all company insurance and banking records.

POSITION CRITERIA:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or similar 5-10 years related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents, government regualtions and agency rules.
  • Requires strong interpersonal communications (written and verbal) with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner and on schedule.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, polite and courteous manner.
  • Requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with ability to organize and maintain proprietary files and records.
  • Requires ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing conditions and requirements.
  • Requires ability to effectively read and interpret documentation, i.e., contracts, agreements, government notices, company operating procedures, etc.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
