Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes, but not limited to:

  • Checks and approves all vouchers for payment.
  • Also prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary.
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests.
  • Answers all vendor inquiries.
  • Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted.
  • Prepares accounts payable checks.
  • Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
  • Early Pay Discounts
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Assists in monthly closings.
  • Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
  • Perform any/all other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate's degree (A A) or equivalent from two-year college, technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:                                                      

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software; contact management systems; internet software; inventory software; order processing systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to fingers, type for long periods of time, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear in person and on phone. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
