Job Description

We are looking to hire 2 Aerospace CMM Inspectors (for a NIGHT SHIFT: Sun- Fri from 11pm - 7am EST) for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a 5 month assignment with the possibility of extension through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Pay Rate: $25-30/hr (T4) + $1.44/hr for the Night shift premium + benefits available
  • Shift: Night shift: Sun-Fri from 11pm - 7am EST 
  • Length of Assignment: 5 months to start with the possibility of extension, starting ASAP pending background check, ITAR and CCGP Checks and Reference Check
  • Work Location: Oakville, ON L6L 5Y7

Summary: Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, as the Inspection Technician - CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspection of Landing Gear Parts. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the inspection and acceptance of detail parts in-process in machine shop and surface finishing.
  • Will be required to evaluate products for acceptance to specific criteria, initiate rejection process where required, complete diverse paperwork and system records for traceability and movement of products.
  • CMM operation and inspection experience ideally using PCDMIS
  • Complete First Article Inspection reports using AS9102 format.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment is essential. 
  • Work safely with heavy parts.
  • Apply 5S workplace organization and Just In Time principals for Continuous Improvement.
  • Must also possess good organizational and decision making skills to ensure completion of paperwork and computerized tasks.
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD with no restrictions. 

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including CATIA models
  • High competency and understanding of GD&T
  • Experienced in Measurement System Analysis (i.e. gauge R&R)
  • CMM operation and inspection experience is an asset (PCDMIS)
  • Able to operate CMM in both manual mode and programming (PCDMIS)
  • Fully competent in the use of tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features
  • Knowledge of AS9102, aircraft industry requirements, and general inspection practices.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with office computer programs (MS Word, Excel) and SAP
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and standard work methodologies are required competencies.
  • Will be required to work independently and with minimal supervision to complete tasks
