We are looking to hire an Aerospace CMM Operators for Landing Gear Parts for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for either an Afternoon Shift (Mon to Friday from 3pm-11pm) , a Weekend Day shift (Fri, Sat, Sun from 6am-6pm) OR a Weekend Night shift (Fri, Sat, Sun from 6pm-6am). This will be for approximately a 12 months assignment with the possibility of extension through our Company Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

Job Description:

  • ROLE: CMM OPERATOR (4 positions required) 
  • Client: in the Aerospace industry
  • Employer: Volt Workforce Solutions Canada
  • Shift Options and Number of Openings available = 4 openings in total:
    • 2 openings for the Weekend Day shift: (Fri - Sun) 6am - 6pm 
    • 1 opening for the Weekend Night shift: (Fri - Sun) 6pm - 6am 
    • 1 opening for the Afternoon shift: (Mon - Fri) 3pm - 11pm 

  • Work Location: Oakville, ON, L6L5Y7
  • Term: 1 year contract possibility of moving to Permanent direct with the Client, or at the very least an extension. 
  • Pay Rate: $28 - $33/hr (T4) + shift premiums available + benefits available

CMM Operators: 

Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, as the Inspection Technician - CMM Operator, you will be responsible for inspection of Landing Gear Parts. 


Primary Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the inspection and acceptance of detail parts in-process in machine shop and surface finishing.
  • Will be required to evaluate products for acceptance to specific criteria, initiate rejection process where required, complete diverse paperwork and system records for traceability and movement of products.
  • CMM operation and inspection experience ideally using PCDMIS
  • Complete First Article Inspection reports using AS9102 format.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment is essential. 
  • Work safely with heavy parts. 
  • Apply 5S workplace organization and Just In Time principals for Continuous Improvement.
  • Must also possess good organizational and decision making skills to ensure completion of paperwork and computerized tasks.
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD with no restrictions. 


Requirements 

  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including CATIA models
  • High competency and understanding of GD&T
  • Experienced in Measurement System Analysis (i.e. gauge R&R)
  • CMM operation and inspection experience is an asset (PCDMIS)
  • Able to operate CMM in both manual mode and programming (PCDMIS)
  • Fully competent in the use of tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features
  • Knowledge of AS9102, aircraft industry requirements, and general inspection practices.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with office computer programs (MS Word, Excel) and SAP
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and standard work methodologies are required competencies.
  • Will be required to work independently and with minimal supervision to complete tasks
