We are looking to hire an Aerospace M&PT Engineering Specialist (for an AFTERNOON SHIFT: Mon - Fri from 3pm - 11pm EST) for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a 12 months assignment with the possibility of extension through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Length of Assignment: 12 months to start ASAP pending background check, ITAR and CCGP Checks and Reference Checks

  • M&PT group supports Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations in material selection, NDT, special processing (Chemical processes, surface treatment, HVOF, heat treatment), chemical and metallurgical lab testing.
  • M&PT engineer is also a key participant in disposition of MRB related to the products.
  • M&PT organization is a key liaison between design engineering, in-production and Operations.
  • This present position is to support Operations, MRB and metallurgical lab testing during 2nd shift of Operations. 


• Responsibility will generally focus on Chemical Processing, Surface Engineering, HVOF and chemical testing. 
• Support internal manufacturing operations in special processing by laboratory testing, process troubleshooting, training, process development and qualification 
• Support review and approval of internal manufacturing plans and techniques sheets 
• Perform Failure Analysis, prepare and review failure reports. 
• Participate in multi-disciplinary problem solving teams using RRCA techniques. 
• Support in production engineering through review of drawing revisions, advising MRB on material and process related discrepancies, and interfacing with customers. 
• Ensure that all the chemical testing and monthly process control (MPC) tests are acceptable. In case of failures, lead the root-cause investigation and implement necessary corrective actions. 
• Support Quality during NADCAP and other audits covering the chemical and surface processes. 
• Support product and process improvements. 



• Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry 
• Minimum 2-5 years of previous experience in a similar capacity and in Aerospace
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Can interface effectively with all levels of the organization, suppliers and customers. 
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving and self-directed behavior 
• Drives improvements to existing processes. 
• Contributes to department by applying their knowledge and experience. 
• Impacts value stream level objectives
