Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Aftertreatment System Design Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Waterloo, IA. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

Duties Include:

  • Design and implement aftertreatment system components to meet non-road emissions requirements and work with vehicle partners to integrate aftertreatment components to meet system functional requirements.
  • Develop tracking tools and reports to manage production component releases and prototype part requirements and tracking.
  • Work with aftertreatment suppliers to develop prototype and production aftertreatment components.
  • Manage BOMs for aftertreatment systems for prototype builds and production.
  • Manage procurement and tracking of prototype part orders.
  • Manage production component and BOM releases through PDMLink and SAP.
  • Support PV&V team on component and system level verifications of requirements.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in mechanical design process, product development and release lifecycle and engineering change implementation.
  • Experience in CAE component modeling and design with Creo Parametric.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and demonstrated application of Visual Basic to support programming linking across different Microsoft Office products and creating of tracking and reporting tools.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Direct experience with diesel engine aftertreatment systems design, development or verification testing.
  • Knowledge of aftertreatment system and component function performance.
  • Advanced Creo modeling skills and Creo design analysis skills on various components.
