Agile Coach II

This is a direct hire position in Seattle, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

Our client is currently in search of a passionate and impactful Agile Coach/Scrum Master that is excited about creating collaborative and supportive Engineering and Product Teams. You are excited to bringing agile methodology to the development process while enjoying the challenge of customizing the methodologies against existing and future requirements to drive success. You are a great teammate and someone who wants to be an active part of making your teams successful and contributing to the team by understanding the existing products, technologies and driving factors of success. Agile coach or scrum master for at least 2 development teams.

  • SME on the use Agile/Scrum practices and values
  • Guide teams on self-organizing and self-managing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity teams and SkyKick; mentoring teams to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the different teams and organization
  • Remove impediments or guide teams to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
  • Facilitate work progression without coercion, assigning, or dictating work
  • Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Assist with internal and external communication, transparency, status reporting
  • Support and educate Product Managers, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining product backlogs

Skills

  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
  • 4+ years of experience as an Agile Coach or similar for a software engineering team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Experience applying Agile Methodologies to improve the SDLC
  • Proven success as a servant leader with skills in facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency through effective communication
  • Working knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
