Job Description

Our client has an immediate opening for a PCB Library Engineer.  They are the world leader in Cabin Management and In-Flight entertainment systems for VIP aircraft and are a highly vertically integrated company that produces virtually all our products in their plant.  This client serves a worldwide base of customers with state-of-the-art products.

PCB Library Engineer

Job Function/Purpose:

Develop and maintain processes associated with the Altium suite of development tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout designs to implement electrical circuit designs using Altium
  • Support PCB manufacturing vendors as required, to facilitate effective PCB assembly and test
  • Evaluate design requirements for product realization working with electrical and mechanical engineers
  • Perform analysis as required to confirm design compliance
  • Suggesting routing strategies and circuit enhancements on complex PCB designs
  • Encourages coordination between internal departments including other engineering disciplines and manufacturing
  • Create a complete PCB documentation package including fabrication and assembly drawings, part lists, and schematic diagrams
  • Maintain library of electronic components used in designs
  • Develop processes for standardizing schematic entry, unit level designs, PCB layout and documentation
  • Administer and maintain the Altium suite of development tools including servers and databases

Job Requirements:

Education - BS degree in an Engineering related field

Experience - Must have 5+ years in a PCB Design/Engineering using Altium

Skills

Altium Designer and Nexus including backend server/database maintenance Solidworks

Strong knowledge of the following:

  • Design for manufacturability
  • Electrical schematic diagrams
  • Design for low EMI
  • High speed and differential digital designs
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with diverse, multifunctional teams

Knowledge of the following a plus:

  • Rapid prototyping
  • Mechanical component specification
