Job Description

Volt has an opening for a Database Developer for a client in the Santa Clara area in CA. We are looking for someone to set up the end to end testing infrastructure for the primary research database. Volt's Client is an American multinational technology company that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services.


  • Set up the end to end testing infrastructure for the primary research database
  • Enable unit tests, integration tests and regression tests where needed
  • Take on the role of a user in certain scenarios to conduct User Acceptance testing
  • Define approaches, methodologies and metrics to proactively and systematically monitor data flows, identifying problems before data corruption occurs
  • Write new tests as well as run existing tests to ensure business requirements are met
  • Test new OS and Keynote versions for compatibility with database and Keynote automation software
  • Help users with database and other application installations as needed


  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 0 – 2 years of experience
  • Maintain, debug and add features for R/Shiny modeling platform
  • Ability to build REST API with Python or Scala. Optimize API performance via parallel processes and batch jobs
  • Talents Database mastery
  • Postgres and Teradata experience
  • Attention to detail and a knack for testing database and other application functionality
  • Able to find bugs and solutions to the issues SPSS and SQL proficiency, including the use of syntax files.
  • Proficiency in R or Python (or other languages that can communicate with SPSS and SQL and enhance their functionality), is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the survey research process is a plus.
  • Able to manage many projects in a fast-paced environment, often under tight timeframes. Computer Science degree preferred.
