Job Description

VOLT is now Hiring an Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist in the Sorrento Valley area in San Diego!!

Get to work with a cutting-edge company in clinical-stage biotechnology that is developing first in class immunology.

Essential Functions

  • Will be a primary Accounts Payable contact.
  • Maintain vendor records in the accounting system, including W-9’s and new vendors.
  • Tracking receipts against purchase orders.
  • Reconcile invoices.
  • Provide monthly accounts payable reports (i.e. AP aging, accrued expenses reconciliation, open PO listings, etc.) and other information needed for SEC filings or for analysis of company expenses.
  • Prepare annual 1099’s.


  • Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 90 employees.
  • Maintain all payroll files.
  • Process 401(k) contributions.
  • Prepare, reconcile and distribute recurring payroll reports such as vacation and insurance accruals.
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll for posting of required transactions to the general ledger.
  • Act as liaison to the payroll provider in maintaining software updates for payroll and tax reporting.
  • Support annual W-2 process.

Accounts Receivable

  • Record accounts receivable transactions.
  • Process incoming cash receipts against the receivables.


Education & Experience

  • AA degree in Accounting or Business and 2+years of accounting/ bookkeeping with payroll processing experience.

Knowledge and Competencies

  • Understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience in QuickBooks preferred.
