Job Description

Position: Application Services Manager
Type: Contingent
Duration: 3-6 months (Possibly CTH) 
Location: Hillsboro, OR
Rate: Market (W2 w/ benefits)

SUMMARY:
Manage a team of Technology Business Systems Analysts and Application Engineers responsible for services and engineering including Level 2 support for new and existing business application systems used by the bank and/or its customers. Actively engage with and provide guidance to the team in the context of the issues and details of the team’s application portfolio comprising functionally grouped systems.

TOP “MUST HAVE” SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years’ experience working as technology systems analyst, applications, engineer, or as a technology manager.
  • Management experience in a technology setting.
  • Experience working within a complex service delivery technology environment with an understanding of the business functions supported in team’s application portfolio.
  • Basic understanding of architectural elements required to lead a group that supports large installations and maintain high availability such as clustering and load balancing.
  • Proven ability to comprehend and navigate complex technical systems
  • Experience with vendor management as it relates to support for issue management and escalation.
  • Experience with banking products such as retail, commercial and core banking products, bill pay or lending software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or BA/BS with experience equivalent to a degree in a technical discipline required.
  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or BA/BS with experience equivalent to a degree in a technical discipline preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 3-12 employees

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the team to achieve high performance levels in terms of accuracy, system stability, and efficiency of issue resolution.
  • Coordinate individual work streams to ensure alignment with business priorities and goals.
  • Facilitate the collaboration of knowledge sharing and overall professional development of support team.
  • Drive business partner / customer satisfaction through transparency and communication.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supervise to ensure competence and continuity of qualified staff through optimum selection, mentoring, performance management, and recognition.
  • Analyze current processes and make recommendations for areas of improvement, including but not limited identifying best practice design patterns and standards that will be common to multiple applications.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. 
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding
  • Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.  
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. 
  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the corporate culture in all actions and words.
