Title: Art Department Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Executive Creative Director, Production Manager, Associate Production Manager, and Artists towards the completion of their department tasks, projects and goals.
  • Provides art support such as research, scanning, 2D and 3D rendering, and design work as needed during the concept design stage of production. Also oversees printing for art reviews and art boards by logging, printing, mounting art in digital and hard copy versions, and color correcting concept images.
  • Administrative and backup support to the production team including digital asset management, artwork distribution, art board creation and maintenance, general office organization and archiving, and meeting scribing. Occasional light phones and calendar management assistance.
  • Facilitates day to day department operations with light computer and printer maintenance; logging and tracking facilities, IT and Work Place Services issues through to completion; overseeing department shipping needs by preparing, tracking and receiving both domestic and international shipments; and assisting with food and office supply orders.
  • Contributes to the growth and development of the department by identifying efficiencies and best practices.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Art or related field preferred. *would you consider someone without a degree but an equivalent amount of relevant work experience?

  • 2+ years of professional work experience preferred. *would you consider someone with no work experience but a strong portfolio?

  • Must be detail-oriented and possess very strong organizational, project management and communication skills.  

  • Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects, establish priorities, and multi-task efficiently within a fast paced and high-pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently and with a team of diverse personalities and work styles. Displays high levels of initiative, flexibility and confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving skills required. 
  • Must be tech savvy! Proficiency required in Macs/PCs including Modo, Illustrator, and basic 3D skills such as 3D Printing, 3D Studio Max. A bonus if proficient in, Zbrush, Poser and Sketchup.
  • Skills such as Photoshop, Maya, After Effects, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint/Keynote, and Google Apps are a plus
  • Must have a vehicle for running errands.
  • This position may require ongoing overtime and some Saturday work.
  • Ability to work on a computer/keyboard for long periods of time.
